Most sleep supplements contain a few relaxing herbs such as valerian, rose hips, chamomile, or lavender. However, these aren’t that effective at causing relaxation for most people. Valerian can actually make one sleep worse if too much is taken. The other common ingredient is melatonin. Companies have been known to put in as much as 50 milligrams of melatonin in a single serving. Melatonin is a very powerful hormone that regulates the circadian rhythm. Too much of this hormone can have poor long term consequences, and eventually the body will try to down-regulate (block) it. In contrast, Rejuvii contains 2 milligrams melatonin, and a very small amount of valerian, but these are two of the lesser important ingredients in the formulation. Rejuvii also contains 21 other ingredients such as ginkgo biloba and lion’s mane mushroom which have been shown to improve memory and develop new brain cells.
